Poem -

the eyes in our feet

Oh Saturday tell me, how much
can we take. The world in her
cradle
The babies awake. All looking
Like people, though we know the
truth, scurrying forward
In old age and youth, and
Do I see vapours ?
Arise on the street, the shadows
and goneness of those we must
meet, or curtly observe
From the eyes in our feet
oh from Saturday heads
I must quickly retreat
