THE EYES OF A FRIEND

When my heart is feeling broken
And my spirit has lost its wings
When the road is full of puddles
And my step has lost its spring

There is someone there to count on
Who repairs my broken heart
Who gives me back new wings to fly
So I can make a brand new start

A special one who does not judge me
Or criticize the things I do
Someone who makes me take a look
Who will see me through the eyes of someone new

When this happens, I am lifted
To a place that's far above
From the darkness to the light
To a place, that's full of love

Lord, when I see things through your eyes
Then life is not so vile
I'm blessed to have you, my special friend
And my frown becomes a smile…
