The Face That Launched A Thousand Drips

The Face That Launched A Thousand Drips

They say that Helen of Troy was so fair, that her face launched a thousand ships;

But since you’ve been gone, I look at yours daily, and it’s launched one thousand drips!

Each one is a tear that drops from my eye, sent down from my sad broken heart;

A thousand a day is the number I’ve cried, since the night that we had to part!

For before I met you I’d never known love, like the kind I found within you;

Never before had my heart found such joy, someone it knew would be true!

The first time I saw you, I felt something new, I felt such warmth and saw light;

Your aura aglow with the heat of pure love, I knew instantly we were so right!

Then our two souls decided to join, forever to be each’s dear mate;

To pledge one another their eternal love, and always each other to sate!

The years went by quickly, each week seemed a day, so lost in times lovely bliss;

We sailed the seas and traveled to stars, locked lips in ne’er ending kiss!

But then out of the blue you floated away, to rest in the Heavens above;

As I stay down here sobbing each day, pining for your cherished love!

Your face that has launched one thousand drips, an armada of sunken past dreams;

For now all alone I miss you so much, the star of our glorious team!
