THE FALLEN

THE FALLEN

So the apple asked of the tree

Why do you let go of my handΒ

Watch me fall to barren ground

Where no sustainance can sustain me

Watch me rot and flounder at your feet

And the tree replied

I have not abandoned you child

It is the curse of all parents to suffer

And in your struggles and decay

Your true seed shall birth

To grow again in my image

And you shall standΒ

Tall and proud and fruitfull

Beside me

And in this way

The suffering continues....

My favourite tree is the mighty oak tree. I love how it's roots reach further underground than its branches that reach into the sky. Interesting poem!Β
