The First Time I Saw the Rocky Mountains

The First Time I Saw the Rocky Mountains

Once, I was standing at the foot of the mountain

 watching its shadowy protrusions stretching

 speaking to my senses like brand new languages

 holding light and colors in its' shadowy crevices,

 And I was not a love struck novice with virgin eyes;

though this place seemed so impossible; I tell no lies

 For  I had seen the sun set in golden hues before me

beheld the rage and beauty of the blue Sargasso sea

still, I felt a certain awe inspiring presence there;

 no other place had ever made me feel like that before

thank you kindly, Jeff, I really appreciate when I get a comment for a write not attached to a tickling topic like love, death or the news of the day, personally I enjoy this write, it speaks of 'nothing' just a man being overwhelmed in the presence of a thing beyond description, again thank you for the words of appreciation, cheers
