The Flower That Said “Hello” to The Butterfly

Title prompt from Charlotte

The Flower That Said “Hello” to The Butterfly

Poised within a sea of fragrant hues
Where views are brewed
from nature’s purist thoughts

Caught within the reverie
of springs atomic song
Life strives to belong to the sun

Where all flowers
All trees
All who grow in earth from seed
Breathe as one

I bask in the soul essence of life itself
My petals dwell in sublime sunshine
We sway
Like a delicate ballet
Dancing to the rhythm of springs breeze

Teased by the harmonic motion
of her intoxicating potion
A potent promise
To make all nature flourish

And I...
A mere budding eye
Cultivate within her sensual gaze
Amazed to see
To feel such beauty

Tripping along her balmy song
I sense the fleeting flutter of delicate wings
Such pretty things
to dance along her gentle breath

Then softly tread upon my yellow bonnet
So tender to the touch
I feel her sigh

Through my nectar
comes a loving dance
As the quintessential union
of nature’s happenstance
births a wondrous high

“Hello my sweet beguiling butterfly”

Wow, I just love the words used and the poem itself. I really haven’t been able to come up with anything like this for a very long time and that makes me kind of sad because words and poetry can be so beautiful. I might try now and see what I can come up with. I guess we all have our own unique way of expressing ourselves through writing/poetry. I’m definitely more of a words/language person than mathematics for example. Anyways I hope you guys don’t think I’m weird for writing this? Just felt like sharing that, cheers.

Hi Greg D :) wow thank you for such kind words. Such encouragement. Please never apologies for thinking out loud. We all do it on here I promise. I forever waffle on in comments lol

I agree, I love the written word and the rhythm of language. The effect you can create through those combined words on a line. Much more fun I feel than mathematics.

This one only came to life because Charlotte gave me the title as a prompt. I gave her one also. It was a fun thing to do. I am super happy you enjoyed my effort

Please keep writing and sharing
All the best
Gwen x

Tulips are such beautiful flowers. I get snowdrops round my fruit trees. Love when the garden begins to bloom again :) Thanks so much for your lovely comment and sharing your tulips today x

It would have most probably taken me all of several winters & the back end of an autumn or two too, to have crafted anything near as beautiful as this most beautiful of odes seemingly dedicated nature & all that she stands for .. to spring .. And even then failed to come truly close ..

I adore the way you more than just hint at the concept of rejuvenation, the miracle of birth & re-birth and of course to spring its very self ..

I swear that after my first visit, I could smell the scent of crushed meadow grasses & feel the brush of a butterflies wing against my cheek .. Okay, maybe not quite, but as near as dammit .. A most impressive example of my most favouwritest artforms ............ Neville x

Wowsers Neville this is a very generous comment my friend. Given the fact I know how vivid you can paint a poem and bring a scene to life for the reader, I suspect you could definitely ink about the cyclical beauty of nature :) But still I can’t thank you enough for such high praise from a writer like yourself. So glad you enjoyed my friend. Your words are both wonderfully kind and ever so encouraging. Thanks for stopping by and for the pin too :) x
