The Folk Scene

The Folk Scene

In eighty-two years, I've experienced a lot
Many changes but the music's not for me
More of a folksy guy, like The Kingston Trio
Cat Stevens, Joan Baez to name three

Do I seem like I'm from a different century
You're right, from back in the sixties
Wasn't more peaceful but we made it through
Unrest, protests, riots in the cities

Well here we are in the twenty-first century
Are things better, different not better
Same old, same old, we've aged with the times
Accept it from the right of the ledger

Had a pretty good life in spite of some hassles
Probably better than most I'd say
Grateful for health I've enjoyed through it all
Wouldn't have wanted it any other way
