The Footprints On Our Souls

Inspired by Cherie Sumner’s lovely poem “Where Footprints Have Never Been”

When I was lost and feeling helpless, myself could not control;
You rescued me with just one kiss, and put your footprints on my soul!
From the moment that I held you, I had never felt such love;
You ignited my then so coldened heart, a true Angel from above!

For the heat of our pure passion, melted my inhibitions fast;
Because I knew with but that first embrace, our love would ever last!
Since that night we have been holding, nearly a quarter century;
In you I’ve found my Shangri La, no other place would I want be!
.
Now starts the second chapter, another thirty years;
We’ll age together gracefully, allay each others fears!
Then when it’s time for us to leave here, we’ll hold each other’s hands;
And those Footprints On Our Loving Souls, will walk on Heaven’s Sands!
