Poem -
the girl i once knew
Looking into her eyes,
Trying to find the girl I thought I knew,
I can’t find you.
The sparkle, gone.
The passion, gone.
Her eyes,
Once so wide and deep,
Almost as crystal clear as the oceans,
Turned dark,
Her world was all lies,
And I realized,
She was not fine,
She was broken this whole time,
It was obvious now,
Looking into her once,
Full of life eyes,
Now dark with despair,
She was crying,
For help.

When we lose someone we love dearly—whether they simply up and walk out of our lives one day for good, or they succumb to the cold, cruel clutches of death and the grave through disease or misfortune—they take a piece of us with them.
The love of my life walked out on me after 22 years of marriage leaving me for a much younger man.
The wall of ice I've built around my heart will never be breached. It's far too high to climb over and much too thick to melt.
I have no use for romantic love any longer, Jaelyn. And despite what my friends and family try to tell me, I feel I'm much better off for it.
Keep you chin up and hold your head even higher.

i couldn't of said it better, when someone we care for leaves no matter the reason or way they will always take a part of us, whether it be good or bad. we will not ever be the same. and i am truly sorry about your marriage not working out :( . as always i appreciate your sharing with me Dean <3
