The Goldfinch

Amongst the trees
fluttering upon the breeze,
out over the daisies
of fields and streams.
Chasing the sunlit fish
that flash in the flow,
along the banksĀ
to float over the
sweet grass and wild rose.
To paint the air
of Spring“s fair hue,
upon wings, sleek with
wildflower wine and
the last of snowdrop dew.
Ā the last of snowdrop dew.

This is great Tony. We have a flock of Ā around 15 here that descend on our bird feeder. Right next to the living room window. They are beautiful little birds. They look like a painter has flicked their brush of every colour at them ? x
Thank you for the comment and sharing the image of your bird feeder, I can imagine it“s a wonderful sight. Yes they are beautiful birds that colour the air and here in Andalusia they are in abundance. Andalusia lies in the path of one of the main bird migratory routes between Africa and Northern Europe and this time of year the skies, fields and mountains are full of our feathered friends. The Bee eater has just arrived from as far south as the Transvaal in South Africa, a rather exotic looking bird and very beautiful. Thank you for your warm appraisal of my poetry, I am very grateful to receive your comments and thankful that you share your wonderful writing talent that is so engaging and evocative. xx
Full of lovely imagery...enjoyed ?
