The Great Pretender

The Great Pretender

Don't be fooled by the person who identified someone,
or rather who over-praised when all was said and done;
you may just receive one hundred pieces of silver,
for something achieved which was out of order.

Now we're bilingual - the snake has other qualities,
a smart zigzag stripe covering all of his extremities;
there is no jealousy per se, only museum incredulity,
at how sneaky ends don't really justify any amenity.

They took him away, just resigned after admission,
resolute, determined, unfazed, rather beyond reason,
however, this is observation - not malicious intent,
when you're decently scrubbed, you may visit my tent.

Perhaps some recompense may be granted with intuition,
it's up to you isn't it mon ami - here endeth my lesson.
