The Grim Reaper's Cough!

The Grim Reaper's Cough!

The streets are eerily quietΒ
with only the oblivious birds singing
not sure what the day will bring
except the toll of the bells are ringing
Trying to live in a bubble of bleach
so no infection to touch or breathe in
isolating and socially distancing
the battle plan so this enemy won't win
I've never lived through any Wars
only freedom fear years cosy and secure
sure I'd be alive tomorrow and beyond
with no minuscule doubt to endureΒ
Yet now this new nemesis has appeared
invisible but deadly and cunning
multiplying in throats and on surfaces
so from the Grim Reaper's cough are we running
Still we look to the Scientists and experts
and hope the human race won't yield to thousands minus
with the saving answer imminent for all
to rid the whole planet of this Apocalyptic Coronvirus!!?
