The Grinch Who Hated Halloween

Who’s that banging at the door, and making all that noise?
He goes to tell them “Go away”, these little girls and boys!
They look so stupid all dressed up, as witches, freaks and clowns;
He’s going to really scare them, with his most terrifying frowns!

But when the door he opens, he gets a big surprise;
They are all dressed up as Grinches, and tears well in his eyes!
For he realizes what he’s turned into, and likes not what he sees;
He begs them, “kids be patient”, “and wait a moment please”!
.
He has no candy give them, but he knows how joy their hearts to fill;
He goes to his secret cookie jar, and takes out one dollar bills!
He returns and says “I have no goodies”, “but will a dollar each make do”;
They all shout for glee and tell him, “Mister Grinch, we all love you”!

                               It’s never too late
                     To open up ones’ closed heart
                           And let love stream in
