The Hasty Heart.
Be still my beating heart,
Remember where you sit,
Over the pulsating vain,
Located on my wrist.
Do not move too hastily,
To find yourself a home,
Stay within the comfort,
Of your own garden to roam.
Don’t lower your defences,
Create walls of hardened steel,
For it is just a butterfly,
In your solar plexus you feel.
Remember you’ve been here before,
Remember the games that they play,
Remember the pain that you felt...
...Before you give yourself away.

Amen, Lucy!
Look before you leap, as it were, 'ey?
There comes a point and time in all of our lives where we're just too damn old to play games.

Hey Syd, Thank you!! How have you been? I'll pop to your page in a min! That's my fav stanza too. xxxxxx <3 <3 <3
I've been well Lucy, and you? Yes it seems that stanza is quite popular. Very well though out.
More of the same old writing from me I'm afraid, no rush. I appreciate your feedback whenever you get the chance.

The theme of love has always been such a huge favourite of mine and you've demonstrated, yet again, how dear I hold it to my heart. I adore the rhyme scheme and the clarity by which you express the speaker's strength and resilience as love as we know it can be a difficult thing to resist. Have a wonderful morning/evening, Lucy!
