The Honeymooners- A Tale Of My First Marriage

Having eloped, now with a license in my hand, I called my Mom and Dad;
They were vacationing in Miami Beach, they said that they were glad!
They invited us for a honeymoon, ten days at the Doral Hotel;
We arrived down there on Tuesday morn, both excited all to hell!
.
My parents were staying a few doors down, in a high-rise ocean-side;
They met us in the lobby, we all hugged a bit and cried!
Then we went over to our great hotel, my father got us our room;
Ocean-view, on a real high floor, for this brand-new Bride and Groom!
.
For ten days then we partied, fine meals, the beach, and dance;
No finer place could we have gone, to begin our new romance!
In the lower level, was a store called Bab’s, with lots of lady’s clothes;
I bought my wife a new wardrobe, our charge account fast rose!
.
The day arrived for us to leave, my father came to pay the bill;
I hadn’t told him about the apparel shop, he really was not too thrilled!
Six hundred extra, from what he thought, he swallowed, then wrote the check;
Thank God my wife was there with me, or he might have wrung my neck!

                                    Wife needed new clothes
                                   So like a caring Husband
                                            I outfitted her
