The Interruption of Thoughts Preceding

In the mornings, I lie thinking,
My lashes ever blinking.
Thoughts now intercepted-
Who am I not to accept it?
In conflict, I lie thinking,
My lashes ever blinking.Â
The birds chirp in my ear;
I feel like you are here.
If ever you lay in a garden of roses,
You may but feel dizzy
from all my loveâs doses.
Each branch would stretch forth
to keep you close, Â
If only you allow them
to have their growth.
If ever you lay facing the summer heat.
My voice is a steady rhythm
kept on repeat.
Youâll follow the direction
of the winds from the sky,
And whisper to me,
âfarewell, love, goodbyeâ.
Iâll feel so chosen to harbour your secrets.
Iâll cherish the moment,
not knowing how long weâll keep it.
Iâll hold on to the wingâŠ
of a plane taking flight,
And profess all I feelâŠ
in a bid to slow down time.
But at last youâll place your fort in a bed of anotherâs roses,
And how can it be helped-
you grew weary of my loveâs doses.
Conflicted, Iâll lie thinking,
My lashes ever blinking.
The birds will chirp in my ear;
The pain is mine alone to bear.
Thoughts now intercepted-
Who am I not to accept it?
