The Interruption of Thoughts Preceding

In the mornings, I lie thinking,
My lashes ever blinking.
Thoughts now intercepted-
Who am I not to accept it?
In conflict, I lie thinking,
My lashes ever blinking.
The birds chirp in my ear;
I feel like you are here.
If ever you lay in a garden of roses,
You may but feel dizzy
from all my love’s doses.
Each branch would stretch forth
to keep you close,
If only you allow them
to have their growth.
If ever you lay facing the summer heat.
My voice is a steady rhythm
kept on repeat.
You’ll follow the direction
of the winds from the sky,
And whisper to me,
‘farewell, love, goodbye’.
I’ll feel so chosen to harbour your secrets.
I’ll cherish the moment,
not knowing how long we’ll keep it.
I’ll hold on to the wing…
of a plane taking flight,
And profess all I feel…
in a bid to slow down time.
But at last you’ll place your fort in a bed of another’s roses,
And how can it be helped-
you grew weary of my love’s doses.
Conflicted, I’ll lie thinking,
My lashes ever blinking.
The birds will chirp in my ear;
The pain is mine alone to bear.
Thoughts now intercepted-
Who am I not to accept it?
