Poem -

The Invisible War

At night the demons in the dark tear through my mind, they want nothing other than complete destruction. They want to become the host, to define myself by them. Black in colour they fly around like ghosts that can’t be caught or tamed, they are pure hatred, pure corruption and pure evil. Feeding off fear they continue to tempt out the darkness in my very soul. I can hear them whispering to my darkness to unlock itself and wreak havoc on my life. They show me my weaknesses and everything that terrifies me to break down the cage that holds in the darkness. I Battle the God Erebus each night.. I defeat him but each battle he poisons me and makes me weaker, he will one day soon defeat me and release my inner darkness, it will tear through my body like a cancer and hold my soul prisoner in purgatory.

Everyone deals with their own demons in their own way, this is my representation of the battles that go on in my head every day.

Hello Benjamin...

Welcome to Cosmo!

I don't know what you've been through or why your demons are terrorizing you...

I'm not familiar with your God Erebus...

There's definitely a battle going on...

Have you read the Book Battlefield of the Mind?

I haven't read it but, I hear of people who have and some of their stories are pretty scary too...

Many say it helped them a lot and many times they would read it again to gain more of what helped...

Anyway, I hope the demons stop messing with you, for you...

Hugs...

The god Erebus is one of the primordial deities in Greek mythology and said to be born out of a primeval void, bringing chaos, darkness and fear with him. It seemed fitting to use him as an example
