Poem -

The Key

I write to find a key
To a door I cannot see
Leading to another kind of life
Of ease for me and my wife

I write to find a way
To make it through another day
To ease the worry in my mind
Uncertain what each day will find

Maintaining a smile out the outside
Trying to keep a sense of pride
Inside I'm fighting the dark
Quiet, do you hear that?Β  Hark!

Perhaps I thought the answer was there
Running out of moments to spare
The stress and anxiety must wane
I try to hold on to what's left that's sane

Get out of my mind, your writing my life right now.Β

Excellent wording, it flows like the broken glass in my veins, cutting deep, realising its me. Also you, now I don't feel, so alone.Β
