The lake in Summer

Laying in a meadow
The cool damp grass beneath my feet
As the sun gently warms my face
Beside me a tree
Branches holding birds who explode into a symphony
A complex melody they play
Yet the wind catches the rhythm
Commanding the tall grasses to dance
Perfect unison they sway caressing each other
On natures ballroom
I am truly honored to have witnessed
Mother Nature at her simplest
Her most perfect.
