Poem -

The Oak

It begins beneath the earth
Growing, expanding, breaking the surface
Reaching toward the heavens
Arms forever exploding outward, upward
Changing its colors from furious reds to astonishing yellows
Back to emerald greens
One part is dead
yet in its fingers it carries life
A heart carved in its bosom
Shows a young love long gone
But not forgotten
Its beauty awe-inspiring
When i am gone it will still stand
Magestic, strong, and solid
Hopefully filling someone else with inspiration
