The land to nowhere
Reeds grew tall on the river bank,
Sturdy, a planted tank.
They hid what was in the river,
They hid what had begun to wither.
A world beyond ours,
A world filled with flowers.
The sun always shone there,
It was known as the land to nowhere.
It was a city, hidden in plain sight,
Yet it only showed in the night.
The time we lose our minds,
We see a broken mankind.
We see the world as it really is,
And all the opportunities we missed.
It's seen with closed eyes,
A place where a dream lies.
The dream to get away,
"It's impossible," they say.
He never believed them,
"There is no place without mayhem."
All these facts were thrown at him,
As if believing was a sin.
He cried, "I swear, I've seen it,"
They cried, "Bull shit!"
He now no longer remembers,
It stopped in the month of December.
He was pushed to stop,
As if it was a fable by Aesop.
Just without the moral,
He was treated awful.
Nobody believed he was right,
But they did when he went there at the end of his life.
