Poem -

The last twelve years

You tell her she's an attention seeker,
But what do you expect,
You've ignored her for the last twelve years,
Yet you never saw her tears,
Because she was stronger than that,
Yes just a little girl,
Kept it all together,
She never was given a chance,
To express the hurt she faced,
So she risked it all and started dance,
She danced,
And danced,
Which kept her going,
Her emotions were on show,
Ahe never missed a beat,
And had a perfect flow
When you saw her on that stage,
You're cinciousness followed through,
Seeing her express herself,
Which is something you never let her do,
You saw that little girl,
That had kept it together so long,
You realised you had ignored her for the last twelve years,
And she was so very strong,
You no longer called her an attention seeker because you realised,
It was you all along.
