The Leap

A dreamy son

setting fire 
to holy water. 

on the ravine of hormones 
on the edge of enough,
bitten by 
the bug of love.  

moonlight lantern 
firefly fueled,
a bed of barley, 
and broken rules. 

A son of gleam
a​​​​​​ daughter serene,
hearts out of chests 
and taking leaps. 

The driven wants 
and the passionate needs,
soaring romance 
in the air they breathe. 

A humble son 
a rebelling daughter,
weeping mothers 
and scorning fathers . 

Forbidden they go 
forewarned they are, 
into a love that glows 
like a billion stars.
