THE LIGHT

O the blessed relief that attends,
Dawns sweet breath of exalted life,
That, from his divine hand amends,
The foreboding spector of eternal night.

For beneath that phantom veil we prey,
To be blessed with the precious gift of sight,
And be reborn at the break of every day,
To behold the glory of the light.
