The Little Ones

The Little Ones

The birds pecked through the invisible food, busy as always,
I sent them love on sight, the balm they offered quieted my fears,
I smiled at God's feeding, I smelled my favorite flowers,
Row on row of them, young as they were to die very soon,
A short span for the lovely.
