The Little Shrub That Can't

Getting dark soil under my nailsΒ
Rearranging the compost,Β
Adding pesticide to tryΒ
to keep it aliveΒ
This shrub that is browningΒ
Dying and there isn't a reason
Even with my best effortsΒ
With all of my love and attentionΒ
The leaves are still fadingΒ
I want to save itΒ
But my heart is telling me no
Because nature isn't easy
To define, explain or control
As I watch its white flowers dieΒ
My eyes water as I am leftΒ
Wondering,Β
Why?

I can really relate to this...God.. my bushes are my garden children...it's devastating if they die. x

Exactly like I hate when that happens. Even weather fluctuations can kill shrubs that are growing.Β
