The Machine
The
machine,
billions of
years in the
making.
Our very
being
to the
molecular level
fabricated,
wired,
controlled.
Controlled by
the machine,
the system.
Fabricated,
simply
fabrications
are we
by the
system.
Like machines
mired
by the
hardware
influenced
by the
software.
Products
of the
environment.
All we know
programmed.
How we’re wired
predetermined.
Everything
scripted by
the system.
The machine’s
system.
Freedom
an illusion.
All just
components.
Widgets within,
simply
functioning
as designed.

Brilliant...collectively we function as designed, but to what purpose? We are genetically pre programmed to function, believing we have free choice but I would argue at this stage in my life that free choice is an illusion and exists only in the minor details that lead to the same outcomes( ie..which job as opposed to no job and writing poetry all day) Maybe.. I am off track here but now my mind is wandering and wondering whether lives are pre written or whether we choose our own paths. And if we choose our own paths they must be severely limited as we do not choose where or to who we are born or our early experiences that shape us etc etc etc. Mostly though, I think we are controlled by the societies we create and it never fails to astound me that we, the masses put in power the very systems that limit us and keep us so busy just trying to feed ourselves that we have little time to question. Ultimately whether it is by unseen forces, governments and big business, evolution and genetics or simply our own limitations, I agree...we are controlled. You have written a statement that sets the mind wandering down many different paths...mine anyway...?

Yes, on reflection I think we can choose which direction to go or which path to take and that's where our control ends...with the first step on the choosen path. Sorry for late reply ?
