The Man Upstairs

The Man Upstairs

One man's ceiling is also another man's floor,
I wonder in your life if what's less becomes more;
mine is surreal, like The Rocky Horror Picture Show,
'How about that - you got caught with a flat.'

If it's not upstairs, then it's just next door -
the noise, had to bang on the wall, what for -
doing the diy, while I'm having lunch on new year's day,
they said that it's not our new year - asians they say.

Now, there's no one above or living next door,
we stand alone, looking at the sea, what we dreamed for;
the man upstairs used to be paying a lot of money,
looked like he'd just stepped out of an old mystery.

Where did the time go - it was an outrageous theft,
but in hindsight I suppose, it was 'just a jump to the left.'
