The Masks We Wear

Who among us would dare
Present our real face?
Yes, these masks we wear
Cover our souls, leaving no trace

How can we shine through
This artificial mask?
Present a plastic face
Once it’s on, you can’t go back

We cry out from within
Stopped by the soundproof wall
No one is free from fate
It controls us all

We convince ourselves
This is who we want to be
But with these masks over our eyes
How can we clearly see?
