THE NATIVITY

And all around the world
Lowing animals are seen
All revered
Alongside the baby Jesus
In the timeless
Christmas scene

And all around the world
The animals suffer
In conditions vile
No hay for them
Nor hope
Or kindly smile

And all around the world
They die
Their agonies unheard
Deaf ears blind eyes
The true cost of Christmas
In the tears they cry.

Hi Tony, I don't often post such poems as most people turn away but sometimes it spills out. Millions of turkeys have been raised in disgusting conditions this year with the sole purpose of being killed for Xmas. Nothing has value in our world anymore ...animals mass produced just like shoes or hats. The plight of fellow species unfortunate enough to inhabit our planet saddens me more than anything else in my life...anyway thankyou for your kind words and support ?
