a newspaper waiting,
to hurt and depress.

some whales have been beached,
in a far away land,
and now 30 grey bodies,
lie dead in the sand.

a bomb went off,
in a school yesterday,
and a prizoners' escaped,
from guantanamo bay.

in some third world country,
there's new epidemic,
and pestacide flows,
in the good river Kennet.

some bloke has been eaten,
by a hungry wolf pack,
and a toddlers gone blind,
from a seagull attack.

polar bears are endangered,
since the ice caps have thawed,
and a millionaire is fighting,
accusations of fraud.

an axe has been taken,
to a piece of fine art,
and the NHS,
has now fallen apart.

a much loved sportsman,
has committed foul play,
but at least there's a crossword,
so that makes it ok.
