The Night I Drowned a Thousand Stars

The Night I Drowned a Thousand Stars

Captive in chains linked piece by piece, silent jailing of a cardinal with no wings
Petulantly stolen from the sycamore branchΒ
Being pulled down by my Hazel eyed crimes, i blanchΒ
Prisoner in what I have done
It was I who laid at morning sun
The silver lining of what was done
The night i broke a thousand hearts
The night I drowned a thousand Stars
Because I let you go
Now I'm letting myself goΒ
There's no place to hideΒ
As I lose reign of freedom in my life
A cardinal with no way to soar
Chains wrapped, head trapped, death hacked, life's been mappedΒ
Locked in by my idiotic designs
Left with a parchment to write down my rhymesΒ
Thanks for the good times
Breaking your heart was my first crime
Drowning those stars then ignoring the mimeΒ
Oh sweet freedom I say goodbyeΒ
