The Ocean

The Ocean

I ask, who can beat the ocean

With its white foam crests

And poignant motion

Through the fest

Of sharks and depths

Lord, across this deep

This coral cave

Towards mortality

Into the caverns of the sea

This inevitable tide

That taketh me to death

Swallowing the soul

Unto and beyond

The ocean

~~~~~~~~
Plea, upon these knees
For whom is this vengeance,
These salt dripped waves
Surround this heavy heart
Bumping into the unknown night
By night a tempest
By morning light a rage
By sunset no less
Than a monster
That taketh thee
Into its belly
Is this the end, I ask
I plea, unto finality
The ocean
~~~~~~~~

I am lost in the ocean

Lord save me,

Protect me

Rescue me from its rage

I did not see the coming tide

Yet you have thrown me

This rope; fortuitously

Not for death, but for life

Not for hanging, but for release

Not for dying, rather for mother

Father and child

So that they too may live

To see the heart become as

Still and redeeming as

The ocean

-~~~~~~~~

Where is this wave upon which

I heave through the dark

Caverns of the sea surround thee

As stallions of tides

Engulf thee,

So that we may come to be

Understood in life as in death

In grace towards passing

Rising with the Angels

Sleeping through broken dreams

Living through the highest swells

Breaking into the light, so that

Our mortality is surrounded by

The ocean

~~~~~~~
As this ocean takes in the tides
This soul must inevitably  subside
Hi Jai,
Wow, your crowning masterpiece.  I am lost in your ocean of tumultuous waves.  Tossing my mind to and fro.  Challenging me to solve this mystery.  Yet, it ends up in my "cold case file", for it is far too esoteric to solve its riddle instantly.  But, with time, and lengthy perusal, like Sherlock Holmes, I will be successful.
Peace, Hugs and Love, Brother Poet,
