The death of love

The death of love

One minute
Alive
Walking
  Down
The street
  Drinking a beer
 Eating hamburger with
   The Lot
 The Lot
Next minute
Laying on the side
Of the kerb
   The kerb
 The damn kerb
    Bleeding
   Feeling death
      One minute here
Next minute gone
     Gone
Gone
   Exposing
The weaknesses of life
For the stars in the universe
  One minute on the ride
Next minute - the hearse
 The hearse
 Life ain’t a game
    Ain’t a rehears-al
       Laying here on
The kerb
  I just told her
     That I love her
   And now she’s gone -
One minute
Alive
Walking
  Down
The street

     For
 The death of
  Love
