The Old Man

I met someone today,
He was old.
He had a bike and BB gun,
I want to be like him.
He could do anything
He was Old.
Man I wish I was ten also,
Then I would be grown.
I met someone today,
He was old.
He had a car,
A job and girlfriend.
All I have is thisÂ
Dumb old bike.
I can't wait until
I'm twenty like him.
And now I'm twenty,
I know all the answers.
Look at me world,
I've got it made.
Now I'm running in the jungle,
Death and fear my companions.
And now at twenty three,
I'm the oldest person here.
I met a man today,
He was forty years old.
A wife, a house and kids,
Why did he look so old?
And now I'm fifty,
A wife, two cars and kids.
The man I use to envy
Is the man I came to be.
I saw a boy today,
He was ten and had a bike.
He was looking in my mirrow:
He met a man who was old today.
We can not go back,
What was will never be again.
What I would give to tell the
Boy in my mirror what's to be.
