"The Old Man At Sea"

"An old man thought always,
that he was quite alone at sea.
A fisherman by trade,
he didn't believe,
and as he countlessly tossed,
his net into the ocean,
he always came back,
empty handed,
that great, big fish,
he never landed.
He would drink and think,
and curse God for his pain,
until one day it started to rain,
and being stubborn,
as he was prone to be,
he stayed his course,
but little did he know,
it would only get worse.
The rain pounded,
the deck of his ship,
and his sails,
they tore and ripped,
and with his hands,
to his cheeks,
he knew to his very core,
he had made a grave mistake.
His ship gained more water,
and started to leak,
and as the storm raged,
and reached it's peak,
his ship swayed creaking,
to and fro,
and he was tossed violently,
into the sea below.
When underwater,
when all hope seemed so lost,
he in utter desperation,
called out to God The Father,
for the first time ever,
and prayed in his head,
and this is what the old man said,
'I'm sorry to bother,
because I know You don't like me,
as it has always seemed,
like You fight me,
but I ask you this once,
will You help me somehow?
I need Your Help Lord,
I need it now!'
Just when the old man,
thought his life was all over,
he felt a gentle hand,
on his shoulder,
and a great, big current,
brought him to the surface,
and he began to believe,
he had A Purpose,
and that he was never worthless.
He swam to a broken plank,
and cried out to God,
spitting up water,
that He had his undying thanks!
He rested his eyes,
and slipped off to sleep,
but God's Angels,
made sure,
he didn't sink to the deep.
He awoke on a beach,
with a great, big smile,
stretched across his face,
and Thanked The Lord again,
for Such Amazing Grace,
and as he stood up,
and looked around,
a man traveling home from town,
noticed him there,
and with a heart that cared,
went to meet him,
with a great, big hug,
to greet him he said,
'Jesus told me to tell you,
you were never, ever a bother,
so come now sir,
let's get you out of the water!'"
