THE ONE WHO DIED FOR ME

THE ONE WHO DIED FOR ME

Reaching for those things which are before
For the excellency of the LordĀ
I press in, that I may take hold ofĀ
Jesus, the treasure in heaven storedĀ
I press toward the prizeĀ
Of the upward call of GodĀ
Overcoming every obstacleĀ
With dependence on God,Ā  I plodĀ
I will not be distracted, hinderedĀ
But keep my focus aboveĀ
Though I may face perilous timesĀ
I'm held in the Lord's perfect loveĀ
Someday, I may share in His sufferingĀ
Face persecution or sword
But who shall separate meĀ
From the love of the LordĀ
I will overcome all weaknessĀ
I shall endure unto the end
I know the voice of Him who guides
He calls me His friendĀ
I live to have Him close to meĀ
To know, He holds me in His hand
That His thoughts that are toward meĀ
Are more numerous than the grains of sand
Yes, I will press on, prevailĀ
That I may take hold ofĀ
The One who died for me
And spared not His great loveĀ
Ā
