Poem -

the owl

the owl

circumspect
patient
in the unique way of a hunter
day and night
from different angles
he has seen life
but when the winter cold
finally arrives
hiding
is no longer an option

time
at the beginning
seemed to be too long
now it is easy to infer
it was not enough
what life in time has given
time in life has taken
his strengths
have been replaced
by wisdom
coming to an end
lugubriously
the owl laments
if only
it had happened
backwards!

Beautiful journey. I loved how you weaved through time on the wings of an owl. The last stanza in particular has some real gem lines
