The Owl And The Fairy
Deep in the forest,
Now lost and alone.
Shivers a sad fairy,
So far from home.
How she cries,
Her endless tears.
For now its dark,
In a forest of fears.
She lifts her head,
And to her surprise.
Stands an owl,
So old and wise.
Come my child,
Lets get you home.
You've ventured far,
Your foolish roam.
I know the way,
Above the trees.
In this darkness,
I see with ease.
Hop on my back,
Please hold on tight.
And you'll be home,
By dawn's first light.
Your fairy kingdom,
Now awaits us below.
See your parents faces,
All relieved and aglow.
They'll teach you lessons,
And remember them well.
That there are dangers,
Beyond where you dwell.
I'm guardian of the forest,
Protecting one and all.Â
Whenever any need help,
I'll always hear their call.Â
Dedicated to Iris, Rachel and Neil.
This is your poem now Iris and to share with all your friends.

Wonderful Poem
just loved it
Love owls
I hope you read my new poemÂ
Greg I'm glad you enjoyed this one and thank you for I rewrote it in places and added the last verses for it never seemed to end just right on 'relieved and aglow'.
When it should really end on lessons to learn and about this guardian owl.
Thanks again and I'm off museum work for this weekend (thank heavens) and can play catch up on members poems and I'm off now to read your latest and catch up on your older poems.
And Greg thank you for ALL your uplifting moral support and for your friendship.
Never forgotten and always respected.
You friend, Shaun.
Â
Youâre so welcome
Ah...beautiful and pleasant write Shaun...thoroughly enjoyed reading this little treasure my friend...đx
Marion thanks a bunch and glad you enjoyed it and as you say it's a little treasure and written for little treasures.
Be reading you tomorrow or I should say today, for it's 4.30 A.M here and the whole neighbourhood is awake due to a car crash at the end of the street and blue flashing lights everywhere.
It's like bonfire night out there at present!!đ
Beautiful, magical read Shaun. I love a mystical poem. Fairies and nature conjure wonderful escapes for the mind. You definitely transported mine. The Owl has such a presence in nature, so fitting to be a guardian and observer. Thank you my friend for lulling my imagination for a moment. Most enjoyedđ§ââď¸x
Gwen many thanks and glad you enjoyed reading it and I think once owls in past poetry of the Middle Ages were once a bad omen the harbinger of doom and all that, then over time crows I believe took over that mantle.
I'm going round the mulberry bush with this reply, but suffice to say written for kids with a message to hopefully learn and abide by.
Thanks again my friend and will see and read your latest tomorrow night.

This is more than just a poem, this is a fairytale in its own write and a kids book in the making too .............................. Neville :)
Neville you are too kind and glad you have enjoyed reading it sir.
And I noticed an image of a poetry book you have written called The Logic Of Fools and went on Amazon and there are four more books you have also written and all poetry.

All the best to you,
Shaun.
You are most welcome my friend .. my pleasure entirely in fact .. & how extraordinarily kind of you to seek me out like that .. N :)
Shaun! This is truly magical! Oh how I love poems that tell a story and when that story has fairies and owls in it â all the better. This is a charming little poem đđđđ very well done and thank you sooo much for posting x
Tina what can I say but thank you and glad you enjoyed it and always a pleasure.
And written for the little ones, who's parents will hopefully teach them to read its lines and learn from.
I wish you well my friend and thanks again and I read your poem On Riley Hill earlier and a great write you have generously bestowed with that spellbinder. x.

Lorna :)
Lorna thank you so much for your kind comment and glad you enjoyed viewing it.
I can see your latest called Flawless is on offer and that's where I'm heading now.
Thanks again and I wish you well and simply enjoy poetry and life.
Although  perhaps intended for younger ones than I, this piece  quickly transports any reader of any age to a magical place where make believe is real and accessible! .It allows the reader  to divest themselves of the weighty existence of being âgrown upâ and climb onto an owls back to  be flown aloft and free themselves  of the restrictions adulthood gives us....I love it Shaun! Thank youÂ
Lodigiana x
Thanks Lodigiana and glad you loved it for any praise from your good self is more valuable than gold.
And how right you are in what you say and written for the little hearts and minds out there with a message to hopefully remember and never lose sight of.
Take care and stay healthy and this so so poet thanks you again and respectfully my friend.x.

Beautiful magical narrative...what you do best is to tell a story in rhyme. I totally got lost in reading this fairy piece. I love how the imagination can give you this and you write it and there is a lesson in it. Love. Pxx
Pratibha, thank you reading and for commenting on this fairy tale piece.
And yes, imagination can offer one and all and the lesson in life it offers.
Hope you didn't get too lost and eventually found your way home.
Take care my friend and wish you and your family all the good things in life.
