THE PERSON I AM I OWE TO YOU

The strength and resolve i have today
is because of you my dearest mother
You taught me from the smallest child
To follow what was best for me not any other
You gave me so much support when i carried
my own children, always lending a hand
Even being there at the birth of my daughter
a beautiful memory you becoming a gran
And wow what a great grandmother you were
you always gave praise where it was due
With my children`s achievements in education
and work and so forth, to name but a few
You also moulded me in to someone who had
respect and manners towards our fellow man
Treat people how you would want to be
treated your motto, and i still follow that plan
It has been such a tough time since you left
us all, and so many tears have we cried
but i know your there up in heaven watching
over us, still with all that love and pride..

Hi Cherie I know i am bias but my mam was great :-)
she instilled in myself brother and sister good values,
I feel a need every now and then to write a poem
for her, just to say to her i`m thinking about her.
I would love to write a little book of poems and dedicate it to her
i know she would be proud, i have started saving to hopefully do that

Hi Dear Debs,
What a beautiful loving tribute to your dear Mother. It brought a few tears, as I remembered mine. It sounds like she was a wonderful woman who instilled in you strong values, and lots of love. You will reunite with her someday, but for now, she will come to you in glorious dreams that you will treasure forever.
Hugs, Peace and Love,
xox Larry

Hi Debs,
This is simply beautiful and had me in floods because I`ve lost my mum too, and it still feels as if it happened only yesterday to her, even though it was 17 years ago. I gave her 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and her first great great grandchild is coming in the spring, I know she`s proud but I would give anything to hear her say it for real. I treasure the dreams I have where she comes to me, as they are my comfort blanket now.
You have honoured your mum so beautifully here in this piece and I just know that she will be simply beaming with pride sweetie. Well done for a superbly well written and beautiful piece.
Love and hugs
