The Power of Words...starring Meryl Streep
The words of an actress has stolen my heart
her characters on the silver screen
are manifestions of living breathing art
suffice it to say she is no ordinary thespian
acting is her gift, who could ever question?
(though everyone deserves to have opinion)
Last night in her speech on The Golden Globes
She showed the great power of articulation
elegant were her words, so thought provoking
words devoid of hate and mocking
I salute: a great artist and spokes-woman
regardless of her political bias or affiliation
it was a beautiful (no cliches') speech handed in

Thanks for saying that....to be honest I'm not into politics; especially from another country, but American politics is endlessly fascinating these days...I'm a fan of award shows and was actually watching the GGA but turned it off when Streep was about to speak (I knew she would have a lot to say) these speeches are usually boring to be honest, but I was taken aback by how gracious and interesting hers was, I enjoy and respect proper articulation, very powerful....peace to you and your family my friend, cheers

Hi, Deborah, it is a really good speech....I respect her very much, not a fan of her recent work, but some of her earlier movies such as Sophie's Choice and Deer Hunter are great, she is easily one of the best actors in the world, maybe a little over exposed these days, nonetheless she is terrific, I was really impressed by the speech, great speech....hey, have great day, so pleased you are a fan of hers and liked my feeble tribute....hugs

I was just answering your comment on my Meryl Streep poem and jumped over here when you said you had written one too. It was an eloquent speech handled with class and aplomb. Hey bro, lol, I'm still here; I get attached to things like poetry sites, kidding; good artists are here....Merrille I didn't even watch the speech live, I get bored so easy with long speeches, but I heard afterwards how good it was so I watched on Youtube, now I can't stop watching it, yeah boss, I was in tears as well, she said a lot...the part about people getting permissions to do things; even stupid things from 'responsible'' people, wow that hit the nail on the head, explains a lot of things, doesn't it? Glad I'm not 'in' the game, just observing it from behind the 'fence'....lawd help us! lol
