The Road to Life
Impatient
Impatient is what we are
Impatient is what I am
And so is strong
But as the day drives on
Patients rides away
Making my body reek with anger
And my car scream with rage
Now trapped
One side to one side
In front, in back
Just encaged with rage
While impatient’s twin rides away with laughter
I maneuver my way ahead
Winner to a one man race
Now calm
Yet finding myself to where I began
Well, really the end
No longer inpatient
Just patiently waiting…for the light to change

I would like to comment on your poem, but I am too distracted playing with my smart phone - I just got a call - gotta go. Nice piece Nathan! Our culture is impatient - I have been an urban teacher for 16 years.....I have seen it change - esp. since smart phones. I think the drivers in NYC are better and more civil than what I saw in Newark.....Peace.
Good one! I couldn't agree more. It almost seems as if technology was created simply because people are lazy and impatient.
I've not been up north yet but i'd like to hope the roads arent too bad. I heard more people use public transportation more though.
Hello Nathan...
It seems like since they've made no texting while driving laws which is a great thing because seriously, since we've gotten new technology people have a new distraction but, people are honking their horns again as soon as the light turns green and they don't care if someone runs the red light because I would be the one to get smushed while they go along their merry way...
It makes sense why they want driverless cars...
Better not to see the person who tried to legally kill you?
Great write!
Thank you for sharing...
Hugs...

Hello Sparrwsong,
I agree! Texting has been one of the most negative impact to driving. I'm not sure about the driverless cars though. They have a lot of work to do with those! Who will i get mad at (in the exact moment) that a crash happens? Lol
Hey, thanks for reading and commenting!
