The Roller Coaster

The Roller Coaster

As a lad of only fourteen, I had a major fear;

The roller coasters terrified me, but I dared not tell my peers!

One day we went on a class outing, to a large amusement park;

We got there in the afternoon and were staying till it was dark!

We went crazy on the Bumper Cars, the impacts snapped our heads;

Then there was something frightful looming, that ride I’d always dread!

Sure enough my pals all headed there, with weakened knees me too!

Then all of a sudden there it stood, my nemesis in full view!

The line was long to wait to ride, but that was okay with me;

Yet I told them that I could not wait, when really in my pants I had to pee!

Then it was time to get into the beast, that would climb the mountain tracks;

I promised God I would do anything, if he would safely get me back!

As we rose to heights I closed my eyes, and prayed for my return;

For two minutes then I held my breath, until finally it adjourned!

I told my friends that it was great, then I heard their laughs and rants;

They said “If you really loved it as much you say, what’s that stain in back your pants”?

My Dear Lorna,

I find your Haiku very funny too.  Of course, I must comment on it with one of my own.

.

Though he feigned no fear

As the coaster grew more near

His pants were with smear

Hugs, Peace and Love,

Dear Greg,

Having been raised in Ohio, I of course have visited Cedar Point too, and know exactly the roller coaster you are talking about.  Did the girls go on it with you, and if so, who screamed the loudest?

Peace and Love,

Larry xxx
