The rose is

The beautiful velvet petals
Tightly layered as a but
Opening slowly a majestic flower
A blaze of glory enclosing in 
scent
The rose is in full bloom

Life is short and easy
Making buzzing creatures full
Living with it's beauty and scent
Sunshine and water is all it requirers
The rose is enjoying it's life

Soon the petals loosen more
Scent becomes a memory
Bees disown it's pollen
Everything is dropping
The rose is transforming

Now the petals heavy and faded
Fall one by one into a glorious mound
Beginning to dry out and get fragile
Ready for a homemade potpourri
The rose is now deceased
