THE SCREAMS

THE SCREAMS
She heard the screams
From the apartment above
And knew not what to do,
Worried it could be an argument
Or someone in a stew.
She thought of maybe
Calling the police
If the noise went on
But first she opened her
Front door
And stood still in the sun.
From down the stairs
A man appeared
Muttering under his breath;
In his eyes a haunted look
That made her think of death.
She asked him if he'd heard
The cries
He answered he had not
But said he'd listen out for them
And that he hoped they'd stop.
There were no further screams
After this
She had no more cause for fear:
The noise she'd heard from
Up above that day
Came from between his ears.

Thank you.Ā There's no need for youĀ to be scared.
Wow what a mysterious and some what dark write. I feel as if it's an analogy for mental health problems of this man, but he is unaware of his struggles or the source of his problems. I love the way your conveyed this. Very creative and unquestionably unique. Enjoyed. Kind regards. The Fish of the SeaĀ
Thank you.
