Poem -

The Sea

This huge raging beast,

Free and uncontrollable,

Roaring and wild,

Each wave a pulse,

From a heart of water and fire,

Dark menacing clouds,

Showing the ominous feelings inside,

Stubborn and persistent,

Head held high,

Proud and haughty,

Foam flying,

The mane of a wild horse,

Rocks standing tall,

Under the raw power of the waves,

Black hooves pounding,

The sea froth a mere blemish,

Sweat foams and drips,

Along the strong powerful neck,

Surging and rolling towards the beach,

Spray tickling the sand,

Playful yet crushing,

Eyes full of grey boiling water,

Flinty and flashing,

White wave tips,

The whites of frenzied eyes,

Rolling backwards,

Back towards the depths,

The very heart,

Of this huge raging beast.

What vivid imagery of man's friend and foe..

That which can bring joy and the greatest of pleasures...

And  in an instant become a watery grave..

A keeper of countless souls..

thanks for sharing Saoirse.
