The Secrets Of Life

The Secrets Of Life

Do you want to return - no, it was enough,
we will meet again - no, you don't like - tough,
what makes you think that you deserve anything?
Surely there must be something for our suffering.

Were we all an accident, evolution - some, but
who invented the first cell, the first mud hut?
What about the spiritual side, I could write a book,
I did - you wouldn't believe no matter how long it took.

Now, those spirits floating around way above ground,
we contacted them didn't we - surely they must be around,
are they or is it all just a figment of our imagination?
Someone died for us, the afterlife, proven - sorry, no reason.

I asked for a whiskey at a heavenly bar, must be off-limits,
they said: 'Sorry sir, you should know that we don't serve spirits.'
