THE SILENCE OF 9/11

THE SILENCE OF 9/11

We will remember you all by candle light

We will see your shadows on the moon.

We will remember you all when a distant voice

Sings a lovely haunting tune.

We will remember you in sunshine

We will feel your tears within the rain.

We will recall those special moments that we will never have again.

We will look for you all in memories

As the years they come and go.

We will see your faces in waters cool

We`ll look for your footprints in the snow.

An angels smile

A nightingales song

Golden sunsets and the restless sea

In all that we do and love dearest lost souls

We will all remember thee.

For all those poor souls lost in New York on 9/11

Hello Sis Georgina...

Beautiful tribute!

Time has passed and we carry the scars...

Whether they were strangers, friends, or family...

We shall never forget those that died...

We also remember the heroes that day...

Thank you for sharing...

Hugs...

Hi Sparrowsong,

England too, and all over the world lost so much that day, it truly changed the world forever! It will never be the same again and we all have to work hard to put things right for the future of our children and their children!

We must all appreciate what all the emergency services and all the armed forces personnel do for us all, and on a daily basis too, so much more! And actually show our love and respect to them more! After all love costs nothing!! And means so much when it is received. Why do we wait for someone to die before telling them how much we love and appreciate them?! The world needs to stop hating and we need to outnumber those haters by showing others honest love and appreciation for each other, and we can do that through education!!

I`m glad you liked this piece, I wrote it for my mother originally but it is one of those poems that can be used again.

God bless and keep you safe Sparrowsong and thank you for the compliment of reading and commenting on it for me.

FANTASTIC TRIBUTE!!.......this is so beautiful and honoring........each line....each phrase so well conceived & delivered......I was hoping I'd see some writes on this subject.......and what's so special about this.....is that it came from a beautiful soul from across the pond.....which to my mind, made it even MORE special.....actually brought a tear to my eye.......I don't know what's going on with you lately but your writes have been stellar........and your new picture is gorgeous!!......so glad I know you G!!.......this is a fantastic poem and should be recognized as such......I hope this gets nominated this month......it deserves to be!!.......PINNED........just lovely my friend!!........HUGZ!!......T xo

Thank you my big Beasty,

I`m so glad that you like it, it was a terrible waste of life and a time that the world will never forget, and we must all make sure that the children of the future never forget what happened either. Just like we educate them about the world wars, so should we about 9/11 and all the terrible bombings that have taken place over here in England and elsewhere too.

Thank you for the compliment about the photo, I`m chuffed that you liked it. I`m trying to pretend that I`m `not 58` on the 14th, but it`s not working yet!.....lol! But 3 inches of concrete on these old chops and poor lighting has helped a bit!!!....lol!

God bless

Georgina great poem I remember the day very well just like it was yesterday I was at work and I worked in supper market and it was my day out side to do carts it was a beautiful day  sunny cool a little  breeze I lived  in Mass not to far from boston where the planes came out of I came in to get a drink of water when 2 people were talking about I ask what are you talking about thay told me shock and  fear I ran to the phone to call my mom to see about my brother who worked in united nation building in new York and fear it would be next my mom said he got out the building and got the last train  out new York at the time he lived outside new York city. so all day at work we all listen to the radio and then don't live to far from air base when 2 jets went out and over head then you know things are bad I went home that day watching the news for days after and life changed for every one.

Hi Greg my darling,

I thank the Lord that your precious brother got out safely in time sweetie, please tell him from me that I send all my love to him from here in England and give each other a big hug from me when you can and please tell him that I am so relieved that he was safe and well and that you were safe too my darling.

Thank you for reading this piece sweetie and if you ever get the chance please tell a fireman for me that I am proud of their bravery and that the world needs more precious people like them. They and all the other emergency services are all precious and all so brave to give so generously such valuable help to others without a thought to their own safety, they are very brave and so generous and England is very grateful and very proud of them for the help they all gave. England too lost people on that terrible day and a family who are my friends in my village lost their eldest son that day who had only just started his new job in tower one the week before and he and his wife were expecting their first baby too.

Thank you sweetie.

All my love and stay safe for me

God bless

Love

so so sad this poem, all those innocent life's snuffed out in the blink of an eye. this world we live in is a terrible place and year after year something happens to shine light on the 911 attack. it's like they want us to remember what they are capable of. not like we are going to forget in a hurry.

a sad but compelling write.

please would you take a look at a poem called let them call her home

i'd appreciate the feedback

thanks Jeff.
