The siren that cant sing

Walking along the beach
I hear a great screach

I cover my ears
As i hold back the tears

What is that sound
I want to smash my head on the ground

Is it a banshee
Maybe i should go see

Hesitantly i walk through the sand
Fearing what I'd fined
But what i did was not what i had in mind 

There on a rock
Sat a fair maden
But what she was wearing
Was very degrading 

Looking closer through the dark
I found out why
Instead of legs
She had a tail

She was a mermaid 
And the horrifying sound
Came from her lips
As she tried to sing

The more she tried 
The more pain she'd bring 

Speaking up
I said
Please stop
your hurting my head

She paused for a second 
Then burst into tears 

Im a siren 
Why cant i sing 

Im a failure
Im worthless

Will i ever lore men
Will i ever be good enough 
When 
When

Sighing i speak again 

You lored me in
I'll be your first
Come on
Do your worst

The young siren
Suddenly looked up
All her tears had stopped

Smiling she asked
Are you lying 

Fear not fair maiden
I shall not lie

You can take me 
All i want
Is your goodbye
Before i die

Her heart softened 
And grew warm

Thank you and goodbye

He smiled at these parting words
Than in the silent night
He was gone
