The Sun

The sun shines boldly in the sky

High above the dismal pollutions of our cities and highways.

It seems to be smiling.

How can a sun smile

and why is there only one/

One sun.

I cannot look at the sun for too long

It hurts my eyes.

It is so bright.

But I feel it,s warmth,

and life -giving rays

shine upon my hair,

my head,my arms and body-

Lighting it up like a star.

I feel alive,

It gives me life.

Some where on planet Earth

They are sleeping now.

No sun.

Only night.

Darkness and a silvery moon.

How peculiar

that this same sun will be smiling upon them tonite

whilst I sleep.

Is the sun a universal sign to remind us somwehow

that there is something bigger than us

More powerful

a benevolent being that is happy to just shine.

Inspire us

Just be.

Radiant warmth

Happy memories

The sun delivers all this

plus more.

But nobody takes time to appreciate the suN

New day

Same sun

Nobody can take our sun away.

How peculiar life would be without a sun

Plants would die

People would starve

Go Blind

become extremely depressed

Darkness would prevail.

Where would the benevolent being be then?

Thank-you Mr Sun.

Thank you for being there.

Very interesting. I could picture quite a lot of imagery there. I could see a video clip accompanying this piece and it would a very good introduction to a film :)
